11 Hometown Restaurants In Tennessee That Will Take You Back In Time
There's something sweet and nostalgic about a hometown restaurant. It's where the servers know your name, the cook knows your order and everyone else knows your business. Yep, down here in the south we understand a true community, and these are some of our favorite watering holes. You'll feel like you just went home.
1. Jiffy Burger - Manchester
A Manchester favorite, Jiffy Burger is located at 1001 Hillsboro Road. Burgers are served in a fun 1950s style, and the taste is simply out of this world.
2. Rhodes Family Diner - Medina
Colloquially know as a Mom 'n Pop restaurant, Rhodes Family Diner is located at 213 S Main Street. They offer all the comfort foods of your youth and those sweet family favorites from childhood holidays.
3. The Other One - Oak Ridge
178 Randolf Road is where you'll find The Other One, a Secret City staple that proffers your usual diner food, but also a peanut butter bacon slider that's supposed to be wonderful.
4. Gabby's Burgers & Fries - Nashville
If you're looking for a greasy cheeseburger with all the fixins', look no farther than 493 Humphreys Street in Nashville. Their fries are great, and the ambience quirky and crowded. Just the way we like it.
5. The Bypass Deli - Columbia
1323 S James Campbell Blvd is where you'll find The Bypass Deli in Columbia. A favorite local deli, you can find burgers and sandwiches that will appeal to any palate.
6. Nick & J's - Knoxville
We recommend breakfast fare, but their lunch is just as delectable. Or try both...? That breakfast bowl up there looks pretty wonderful! Head on over to 1526 Lovell Road for a bite from Nick & J's.
7. BB's Deli - Crossville
A great spot for lunch, hit up 69 S Main Street when it comes time for you to grab a sandwich with high quality ingredients, assembled fresh for you.
8. Timeless Elegance Tea Room - Morristown
This is a great stop for lunch if you're taking a walk through sweet Morristown, Tennessee. It has a unique ambience and sweet location, right at 156 W Main Street.
9. Hens & Hogs BBQ - Linden
This down-home restaurant is located at 837 Squirrel Hollow Drive, and you can enjoy bbq prepared daily, as well as a smorgasbord of fresh sides.
10. Breece's Café - Covington
Known as the "Cheers" of Covington, Breece's Cafe has a large local following. You'll find a "meat and four" option here, with a solid emphasis on southern fare and hospitality. You can find it at 111 South Public Square.
11. Foglight Foodhouse - Wailing
It's at 275 Powerhouse Road that you can order anything from steaks to seafood to vegetarian platters off of their extensive menu. The eclectic taste and made-to-order meals are like none other.
