Camping in Virginia...is there any better way to experience the beautiful outdoors? If you love being one with nature but are a little put off by some of the less glamorous aspects of camping, the concept of "glamping" (glamour + camping) could be the perfect solution. It might be time to trade in those dusty sleeping bags for crisp linens on an actual mattress. Check out some of these luxury accommodations available in Virginia and see for yourself:

1. Rose River Farm (Syria)

The accommodations at Rose River Farm are three upscale yurts that are tucked away from the main farm on a private 20-acre plot of land by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Staying here means experiencing the contemporary version of these classic Mongolian yurts. It's the atmosphere of camping with the amenities of a five-star hotel.

Claustrophobia will not be a problem with 17-ft ceilings and 1,100 square feet of shelter. These cabins are made out of beautiful cedar, glass, and steel and have central heating and AC. The glamour really kicks in with flat screen TVs, a full kitchen, and high-speed WiFi.

But to be honest, no flat screen TV will provide what the view from your front porch can. The real lure of camping is the outdoors, and you'll be sure to spend plenty of time outside if you're staying at Rose River Farm.

You can choose your yurt based on the view you'd like: meadow, mountain, or river. The private stocked bass and trout pond is another lure for those seeking the classic camping experience.

2. Rock-n-Creek Cabin (Montebello)

The Rock-n-Creek cabin provides a two-story overlook of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The site sits at 3,200 ft., which is one of the highest points in the area. This version of glamping provides a home away from home vibe. But there is ONE twist. This cabin offers private dining prepared in the cabin by an executive chef. So perhaps not so similar to home.

Tea is served! You have to admit, this looks way more elegant than the typical can of beans by the campfire (which we're not knocking, either...just an observation).

3. Primland (Dan)

This is glamping elevated. Three of the accommodations at the Primland resort are actual tree houses. It'd be difficult to find a view grander than the ones provided from the private decks overlooking the mountains. Some of the luxuries include a king bed, soaking tub, 400-thread count sheets, and daily house-keeping services.

You can peer all the way out to Roaring Creek Gorge and Pilot Mountain, North Carolina from a view you'll never want to leave. Wow.

4. Camp Karma

The glamour at Camp Karma comes from that fact that you can camp in a traditional manner, but won't need to worry about bringing along all of the camping accessories. Everything -- from the tent, to the firewood, to the utensils -- will be provided for you. Just bring a couple of pillows and your sleeping bags. If you're a little uneasy about the concept of glamping, this would be an excellent first step to take.

As you might have guessed, there is plenty of fresh air and beautiful scenery. Some of the nearby areas include access to the Appalachian Trail and Peaks of Otter.

5. Kiptopeke State Park (Cape Charles)

There is only one yurt at Kiptopeke State Park, and you can bet that these reservations fill up quickly. Picnic table, fire ring, and fresh water are all provided.

This cozy accommodation overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. You can enjoy the marvelous view from your own private deck. Sleeping arrangements accommodate up to six people.

Camping here also means prime access to one of the most beautiful and explorable parks on the Eastern Shore.

6. Solid Ground Shelters

A company based out of Ruckersville, Solid Ground Shelters is an interesting spin on glamping. If you let them know where you'll be staying, they will bring the accommodations to you. This is incredibly useful in terms of wedding receptions or music festivals.

These sturdy tents come with just about anything you need. After a long day out on the trails or meandering through crowds at a music festival, there is nothing sweeter than a clean and quiet space to recharge.

Just like camping may not be for everyone, "glamping" may not be either. But there's no escaping the fact there is nothing better than fresh Virginia air -- no matter how you may choose to experience it. Reservations for these sites fill up at warp speed now that prime camping season approaches.
