If you enjoy camping, water activities, and gorgeous sunsets, Burton Island State Park is the perfect place to spend a leisurely summer weekend.
The 253-acre state park is home to 17 tent camping sites and 26 lean-to sites, plus 15 boat moorings and a 100-slip marina with Wi-Fi connection, dockside electricity, and a marine holding-tank pumpout facility.
Some campsites are even located lakefront, and feature phenomenal views like this. There's truly no better spot to wake up and enjoy a peaceful morning than Burton Island State Park.
Amenities include restrooms with running water and hot showers as well as a nature center/museum, park store, rowboat and canoe rentals, and plenty of picnic tables.
Burton Island State Park is only accessible via boat, which makes it a secluded slice of paradise we can’t get enough of.
Boasting three miles of shoreline, you’re sure to find plenty of stellar swimming spots, and you’ll undoubtedly want to bring a camera along to capture the serene beauty of this island treasure.
Did we mention that the sunsets are truly second to none? There's little better way to end a quintessential Vermont day than with a sunset over the lake.
You will also find hiking trails that meander across the island.
