East Canyon State Park is nestled along the banks of East Canyon Reservoir, and it's a wonderful place to spend a summer weekend.
The 684-acre reservoir is an angler's dream, with plenty of trout and small-mouth bass waiting to bite.
Visitors also enjoy swimming, hanging out on the beach, paddleboarding, and boating.
When it comes to overnight accommodations, this state park has tons of options.
You can bring your own RV or tent and rent a campsite at the Dixie Creek Campground. Choose from 33 sites with full or partial hookups, and enjoy hot showers and restrooms with flush toilets. The nearby Big Rock Campground is a primitive campground that's more secluded.
You can also rent a cabin here.
These quaint dwellings have AC/heat, lights and power outlets, a small microwave and refrigerator, and bunk beds and dining table. There's water available at your site, and bathrooms are nearby.
For something a little bit different, try a yurt!
They sleep up to eight people with bunkbeds and a futon, and also have power and a deck with BBQ grill. Sit around your fire pit at night, or make some s'mores. Modern restrooms are nearby.
Celebrate Utah's pioneer heritage when you reserve a Conestoga wagon.
Each has a king-sized bed and set of bunkbeds to sleep up to four guests. A small fridge and microwave make it easy to whip up some snacks, and you can grill your dinner on the BBQ grill outside. Your campsite also has a picnic table and fire pit. You'll use the nearby restrooms.
If you'd rather stay in a camping trailer, but you don't happen to own one, you can rent one here!
This trailer is all hooked up to power and water, and has a restroom inside, as well as a quad bunk bed for four people, a couch that converts to a double bed, and a master room with another bed that will sleep two. Your camp site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and propane gas BBQ.
If you'd rather rough it during your trip, consider reserving a hammock site.
For just $20 per night, you can reserve a site with a hammock structure that will accommodate up to eight hammocks. Your site also includes a picnic table and fire pit. If you don't have a hammock, the park can rent you one for just $10!
Are you ready to make some summertime memories? Whether you want to stay in a cabin, yurt, Conestoga wagon, trailer, or hammock site, you'll want to reserve your campsite soon.
