The Third Most Haunted Hotel In The World, Emily Morgan, Is Right Here In Texas

Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio is renowned for its haunted history and paranormal activity, making it a unique travel destination.

Texas is full of haunted places, but this one just might be the scariest thing we've ever written about. San Antonio's Emily Morgan hotel was just voted the third most haunted in the entire world, beating out ancient Victorian mansions in Western Europe and eerie inns in the mountains of New England. If you want to be scared out of your mind while reveling in some of the Alamo City's most gorgeous architecture, spending a night or two here definitely belongs on your Texas bucket list. Are you brave enough to spend a night in the most haunted hotel in Texas?

The hotel opened its doors in 1924 as the "most advanced medical arts facility west of the Mississippi."

The lobby was once a morgue; the 14th floor, a crematorium. And that cozy, romantic fireplace that catches your eye as soon as you walk in? Yeah, it's fueled by a pilot light that once powered the very room where bodies were burned to a crisp.

The hotel is also directly adjacent to The Alamo, so the spirits of war-torn soldiers are free to wander around the property as they please.

In addition to its eerie history, guests and employees alike have had encounters with the paranormal entities that lurk inside the Emily Morgan's walls.

Debbie McNabb, a sales manager at the hotel, said that countless guests complain about phones ringing in the dead of night, TVs and lights flickering on and off, and even seeing a woman dressed in a flowing white nightgown. If you want to search for paranormal activity in Texas, this is the place to go.

It's recommended that you stay on the 7th, 12th, or 14th floor if you want to experience a sighting of your own.

Doesn't the mere sight of the building send chills up your spine? I can definitely picture apparitions haunting these hallways and going bump in the night.

You can see them for yourself by spending the night in the third most haunted hotel in the entire world - right here in Texas.
