Every state has a few legendary hotels that encompass the spirit of the area. In Texas, one such hotel is the Stockyards Hotel in Fort Worth. Keep scrolling to see how the Old West comes to life in this historic, iconic building.
This iconic hotel is located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards and is in walking distance from countless saloons, antique stores and Western Wear boutiques, and Billy Bob's, the world's largest Honky Tonk.
It's not uncommon to see folks passing by on horseback, (or even longhorn-back) fully decked out in cowboy attire. It truly doesn't get any more "Texas" than that.
Open since 1907, the Stockyards has been welcoming guests into its luxury accommodations for over 100 years. There are 52 rooms (including 8 suites) are adorned with either Antique Western, Native American, Mountain Man, or Victorian decor - you pick your favorite escape.
The Bonnie and Clyde Suite was actually occupied by the outlaws during their stay in 1933. Featuring Bonnie's actual .38 revolver, photos of the couple, newspaper clippings, a poem, lamps made from spurs, horseshoes, and a gaming table, this room is everything you need to go back in time to the Wild West.
Other rooms feature mounted longhorn heads, cowhide-covered chairs, and all the memorabilia necessary to make you feel as if it's the early 1900s and cowboys are getting ready for a cattle drive - while you enjoy your luxury amenities, of course.
As far as the rest of the hotel, the spacious, elegant lobby is perfect for relaxation, and the on-site restaurant, H3 Ranch, has been named one of the best steakhouses in the entire DFW area. So lace up your boots, saddle up the horse, and get yourself to the Stockyards Hotel to experience the true spirit of Texas.
The Stockyards Hotel is located at 109 E. Exchange Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76164.
