Discover the unique experience of staying in floating cabins at Hales Bar Marina and Resort on Nickajack Lake in Tennessee.
Camping on the water in Tennessee is of the essence during the warmer summer months. Usually when you think of camping on the water a peaceful misy morning waking up by a sandy lake shore might be your first thought. What if you had the opportunity to stay in a cabin not just on the shore of the water but in the actual water? Pretty amazing right? Well, this Nickajack Lake campground will give you that exact experience. Not only can you float on this water for the night but Nickajack Lake holds some pretty significant historical value with ties to Jonny Cash. Hales Bar Marina and Resort is located on Nickajack Lake and is perhaps one of the most unique and beautiful camping experiences in the state. If you haven't booked a night on one of their floating cabins, it's a must!
Hales Bar Marina and Resort is located on Lake Nickajack, a beautiful location on the Tennessee River. At only 15 miles from downtown Chattanooga, this is a prime spot for adventuring and relaxing in the summer months. Just look at the calming waters of this lake, it's alluring charm just sucks you in.
The resort has a full-service marina, boasting over 220 covered slips and all sorts of rental opportunities. Snag a double-decker pontoon boat, maybe an open deck boat? It's up to you! When you take a trip out into the middle of the lake you will find not only a peaceful and serene place, but the view is gorgeous.
There's a full service RV campground as well if you're looking to bring your own lodging. There are 80 sites throughout the resort which are paved and come with septic, water, and electrical hookups. Although there's currently no Wifi, there are plans for installation in the future. You can even get a lovely site right on the edge of the water for a perfect backdrop to a camping trip.
Perhaps the most popular aspect of the resort are the popular floating cabins on Nickajack Lake. Peak season is from April 1 to September, 30. The price is the same year round and a 2 night minimum is required to rent a cabin.
The typical off-season is from October 1 to March 31, but the views are still as incredible. Can you imagine watching the sunset over the gorgeous lake from your back porch?
There are plenty of options when it comes to what cabin to choose. There are some that sleep just one if you want a solo getaway, book a small floating cabin for two for a romantic trip, or get a reservation on a bigger one that could sleep up to six. Not looking to stay on the water? Rent a land cabin and enjoy a beautiful, forested view.
