A Brand New Way To Enjoy a Smoky Mountain Retreat Has Just Opened in Pigeon Forge Tennessee

An island escape within the Smoky Mountains, Compass by Margaritaville is an amazing new resort in Pigeon Forge.

The Compass is a brand-new Margaritaville resort in Pigeon Forge that brings a slice of island paradise to Tennessee. I recently had the privilege of visiting The Compass with my family. We had a blast; it was a much-needed little break for us and I am delighted to share our experience at this brand-new resort in the Smoky Mountains

Before the resort opened, I sat down with business developer Clay McManus. He painted the picture of a dreamy escape full of luxurious amenities and services. When I arrived, I saw his vision unfolding before my very eyes, and wow, were we in for a treat.

Jimmy Buffett songs played as we walked into the lobby. A popular spot was the little game room where kids and adults gathered together to indulge in some video games, battle for the high score in pinball, or slide pucks down the shuffleboard table.

Outside, my girls played Connect Four and we enjoyed a few rounds of family cornhole. The resort does a fantastic job of creating open-ended opportunities to gather; the games a connecting point for family and friends to spend quality time together.

There are a variety of rooms to choose from, including the dog-friendly suite we booked! We love to travel with our pup, so having him with us made the stay extra special.

From the second we got to the hotel, our kids were eager to visit the pool, and after taking a look, I couldn’t blame them. The indoor space was warm, making the cooler water feel even more inviting. This pirate-themed area offered two different sections of the pool to maximize aquatic fun. On one end, the pool was very shallow and filled with fun ways for little kids to splash around. The other side showcased an awesome waterslide for older kids.

The outdoor pool offers many places to lean back and soak up the sun on a hot day. Kids can run under the falling water in the shallow pool while older kids can race down the enclosed waterslide into the heated depths below. The plunge pool offers a shallow end where you can sit in your chair and dip your feet in the water or submerge into the cool waters below.

Aquatics aside, my favorite part of our stay at The Compass was breakfast. I was treated to a made-from-scratch feast of bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, and an omelet. Belly full, I was sad to see my time at the resort come to an end, but then I remembered where I was: Pigeon Forge, a place brimming with fun things to see, do, and experience!

Next time you are planning on heading to the Smokies for a getaway, I would recommend staying in style and making your reservations for Compass by Margaritaville.
