Rose Island Lighthouse offers unique overnight stays with scenic views and historic charm in Narraganset Bay.

Have you ever fantasized about being a Lighthouse Keeper, spending the night in a beautiful lighthouse, keeping the ships safe from harm? There is a place in Rhode Island where you can do just that. At the Rose Island Lighthouse beneath the Clairborne Pell Bridge in Newport, you can stay for the night or even for a week in one of their charming rooms.

One mile offshore in Narraganset Bay is the beautiful Rose Island Lighthouse.

Staying overnight in the lighthouse is an amazing experience. People are welcome to stay in one of their 5 guests rooms and apartment.

Guests are transported to the island on the lobster boat "Starfish."

The boat runs 7 days a week. Pick up times vary due to sea conditions.

Leave the mainland behind for the scenic beauty of Rose Island.

Even though it's just one mile offshore, you feel like you're in a different world.

There's a lot more than just a lighthouse!

The 18-acre island has a wildlife refuge, the lighthouse, and the Fort Hamilton Barracks.

The Foghorn Building

The 1912 Foghorn Building once house the mechanics for the fog horn, but don't worry, that's long gone. It's a room for two with a queen sized bed and small dining table.

The Keepers Apartment

Located on the second floor of the lighthouse, the Keepers Apartment features a master bedroom with queen size bed, living room with a queen size pull out couch, and a full kitchen with a microwave, gas stove/oven, coffee pot, toaster and refrigerator.

The Curt Bunting Room

This romantic museum room for two is located on the first floor of the lighthouse.

The Barracks Room

The historic Fort Hamilton Barracks building is a totally unique room with a queen-sized bed. You'll feel safe and cozy inside the bomb-proof walls.

Whichever room you stay in, the views are spectacular.

All rooms come with bed linens, pillows, bath, paper towels and cleaning supplies, pots & pans for cooking, and propane for the outdoor grill.

You can also come out for the day Memorial Day through Labor Day and tour the museum.

The Rose Island Lighthouse is open for guests year-round.
