Located on Aquidneck Island, Melville Ponds Campground has scenic wooded campsites in a beautiful natural setting.

The campground is only five miles away from Newport, Rhode Island, and there are plenty of activities in the vicinity for the whole family to enjoy. Hikers will love the five miles of trails at the campground, which lead down toward Narragansett Bay.

Melville Ponds has two vintage Airstream trailers available for rental through Airbnb – the 1977 Land Yacht, and the 1972 Ambassador.

Both trailers have been fully renovated, and their vintage exteriors belie the modern-day luxuries within.

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted with all the comforts you could want for your glamping adventure, from a television to a small bathroom complete with working shower.

No need to tromp through the rain to get to the campground facilities!

Each Airstream has its own kitchen with an induction cooktop, refrigerator, and microwave, so you can prepare meals easily, no matter the weather outside.

Of course, if you’d like, you can still cook over the campfire for a more rustic experience. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table for your use.

Both Airstreams also have their own couches with tray tables, where you can eat a meal, sip your coffee, or just relax with a book. Sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature right outside your window.

It doesn't get any better than this, we'll tell you what.

At the end of a fun-filled day spent exploring the great outdoors, you’ll get to sleep in a comfortable, real bed – not an inflatable air mattress or barely-there sleeping bag.

The 1972 Ambassador has a queen-sized bed, whereas the 1977 Land Yacht has two twin beds.
