This Oklahoma Mountaintop Cabin Will Make You Feel Like You’re in a Movie

Airbnbs with views in Oklahoma aren't hard to find (the Sooner State is gorgeous, after all), but have you ever woken up in the clouds? That's my idea of heaven — pun intended. And luckily, I've found the perfect getaway for the occasion.

Inspired by a fire tower, The Phoenix Rising is a fully off-grid Airbnb perched on a mountaintop overlooking the Kiamichi Mountains, Broken Bow Lake, and the Ouachita National Forest. Virtually every room of the three-story cabin features wall-to-wall windows showcasing the incredible views, so there truly isn't a bad seat in the house.

The Phoenix Rising sleeps up to five guests. The main bedroom is on the third story, with a king bed and two window seats that double as twin beds. The second floor is the living and dining area, and it has a futon with room for two. On the ground floor, there's a full bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower. An additional private half-bath is located on the third level.

But can we take a second to admire these views? Both the second and third levels have wraparound decks that showcase the mountainous landscape in all its glory. Waking up to a scene like this is an experience you'll remember for the rest of your life. That may sound a bit dramatic, but I promise you I'm not exaggerating in the slightest.

Take your morning coffee or tea out on the deck and watch the sun come up as birds of prey swoop and glide over the lake. There's also a grill on the second-floor deck, so bring all your favorite cookout fixings!

Although the tower is off-grid, it certainly doesn't feel that way. You'll enjoy a wide range of modern amenities, from sleek furnishings to A/C and heat to a full kitchen boasting top-of-the-line appliances. The only caveat is that there are no TVs, and the WiFi and cell service can be spotty — but perhaps that's a good thing! Wrap up any obligations before your trip and use the time to truly unplug. The road there is also a little bit rough, so sedans aren't recommended.

The remarkable views extend into the other rooms of the house, from the living area to the bedroom to even the bathrooms! Although the surrounding area is teeming with opportunities for adventure, you may find yourself wanting to stay in the cabin the whole time.
