There’s A Hidden Fountain Of Youth At This Rustic Cabin Resort In North Carolina

The Cabins at Healing Springs in Crumpler, NC, offer rustic accommodations near a historic healing spring known for its curative properties.

For thousands of years man has touted the healing properties and magical abilities of the fountain of youth. From drinking the water to actually bathing in it, people claim to have been magically cured of their ailments. In 1884, one such fountain of youth in North Carolina was discovered in Crumpler and a healing springs resort soon followed. By the late 1880s, it would consist of a hotel (which burned to the ground in 1962) and by the early 1900s, rustic cabins were added.

Although the hotel is long gone, the rustic cabins of this healing springs resort still remain - as does the healing spring; the Fountain of Youth.

The historic healing springs flow consistently and have been recorded to have cured everything from poison ivy to rheumatoid arthritis and even digestive issues.

People travel from all over to experience the magical healing properties of the spring and to stay in the quaint cabins only steps away.

Most of the cabins found at the Cabins at Healing Springs are the original cabins from the original resort.

They vary in size, have been carefully restored, and can accommodate anywhere from 1-12 people. Some are budget cabins with kitchenettes, while the larger family cabins have full kitchens. And all are beautifully appointment.

All of the cabins come with everything you'll need to spend the night; just bring food. They have air conditioning, heat — and some have fireplaces, although most people prefer to gather around the toasty group fire pit next to the healing spring.

Always wanted to stay in a tree house? Bring your empty water bottles and then sip your magical healing water from the Fountain of Youth from high in the treetops! There are two tree houses at the resort.
