To be honest, I've always preferred the beach more in the fall than summer. The temps are still warm, but the crowds have diminished. You still get a cool breeze every now and then, but you can fully experience the most of what the beach has to offer.

A peaceful ocean soundtrack to fall asleep to at night, gorgeous sunrises, warm days and of course the most beautiful sunset - that's what a typical day camping on the beach is like. Fall is the perfect time to pitch a tent on the beach, and luckily in North Carolina just that is possible. These 7 campgrounds will offer you an unforgettable experience.
