You Can Stay in an Enchanting Castle Airbnb in New Mexico
Villa de San Rafael in Albuquerque is the perfect getaway destination if you have ever wanted to feel like royalty.
Throughout my travels, I have visited many castles. However, these historic buildings of awe and majesty are located overseas, so I never would have guessed that a state in the southwest U.S.A. would have its own castle that would rival the ones I've been to in Europe and beyond. Best of all? You can stay here. So, where exactly is this enchanting castle Airbnb in New Mexico, you may ask? Villa de San Rafael is in Albuquerque, and I think it's the perfect getaway destination if you don't want to take a flight overseas but want to feel like you are there.
With its blend of Old World aesthetics and modern amenities, Villa de San Rafael is no ordinary vacation home. Driving up to this castle-like vacation home in the heart of Albuquerque gives the "wow" factor that European castles typically do. It sits on one acre of land with manicured lawns, fountains, and lush vegetation. At the back of the mansion is a 2,000-square-foot casita with a stained glass dome ceiling above the main room, a hot tub, and a large patio with tables and chairs to dine al fresco. On the second-floor balcony, a fire pit awaits chilly nights under the stars.
The castle-like exterior continues indoors with stately furniture, checkerboard flooring, candelabra-style chandeliers, colorful stained glass windows, a mural on the entryway ceiling, and other decorative features, including portraits of royalty and nobles. There's also a double staircase (also called an "imperial staircase") leading up to the second floor, a common design element in European castles. The place just oozes opulence.
You may wonder how many guests can stay at this luxurious castle in the heart of Albuquerque—the answer is 14. To accommodate a large group, there are six bedrooms, including a primary with a king bed, three guest bedrooms in the main house, and two additional bedrooms in the casita. There are four bathrooms.
If you prefer cooking at the castle, there's a full kitchen with seating and a spacious dining room with seating for 10. When you want to relax, head into the cozy living room where a fireplace and French doors open up to the back patio area. Additionally, you'll find a lounge area with two sectional sofas and a large TV.
Of course, Villa de San Rafael offers guests several additional amenities. Within the castle is a movie theater, and if you go to the casita, you'll discover a game room complete with arcade games, a pool table, a TV with an Xbox, and a library with plenty of books to read. This New Mexico castle is one of a kind with its aesthetics, amenities, and luxury. Who wouldn't want to stay here?
Wouldn't you love to feel like you're spending the night in a European castle here in Albuquerque? Live like royalty (or at least pretend to) when you book a stay at this enchanting castle Airbnb in New Mexico.
