The Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville is one of the city's most iconic hotels. One of the largest in the world, the hotel and convention center draws folks from all over the world, and when it gets close to the holiday season, it gets more visitors than usual. A big part of that is the hotel's annual Christmas celebration, during which the entire place is decked out in tons and tons of Christmas lights. If you want to get into the holiday spirit this year, take your whole family out to Opryland.
One of Nashville's favorite holiday traditions is the transformation that takes place every year at the Gaylord Opryland resort.
The hotel itself was first opened in 1977, but after multiple expansions, it's now one of the 30 largest hotels in the world, featuring nearly 3000 guest rooms.
Each year, the hotel's famous, massive indoor atria and lobbies are decked out with millions of Christmas lights, making it one of the most magical spots in the city.
The best part? All of the big lights displays are indoors, meaning you can walk around for hours without freezing just enjoying the displays.
While the lights inside are free and definitely worth the trip, the resort also offers tons of other fun activities for the whole family, including ice tubing, gingerbread decorating, a reindeer encounter, and more.
There's plenty more to do inside if you just want to explore the lights as well. The hotel is full of shops, restaurants, gift stores, and even an indoor boat ride!
Tickets for the activities at The Opryland's Country Christmas can be purchased on their website. For the 2020 holiday season, the event will run from November 13th through January 3rd of 2021. Hope to see you there!

If you're looking to get further outside Music City, take your whole family on a day trip to the city of Clarksville.
