Enjoy an Early Fall Getaway at This Waterfront Maryland Airbnb

If you're looking for a waterfront getaway in Maryland for the end of summer and beginning of fall, look no further than Casa Blue Heron.

While summer is winding down, we look forward to the cooler days of fall ahead. What a perfect time for a getaway! It's the shoulder season, a time between summer and fall when the summer crowds have thinned and we have a bit of a pause before spooky season begins. This is one of my favorite times of year, and I'd love nothing more than to spend it by the water. If you're looking for a waterfront getaway in Maryland for the end of summer and beginning of fall, look no further than Casa Blue Heron.

As a parent, I love the quiet and solitude that the early fall season brings as we settle into the routine of the new school year. Weekends provide opportunities to take advantage of small-town getaways to remote places like Newark on Maryland's Eastern Shore. It's here that I discovered a lovely vacation home called Casa Blue Heron, and it's situated right on the banks of Marshall Creek and has its own private dock.

With over 2,200 square feet, this custom home has two primary bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, along with a third bedroom upstairs. Six guests can comfortably stay here and enjoy water views from many areas of the home that features large windows. The well-appointed kitchen may inspire you to cook during your stay, especially when you don't feel like leaving this oasis of a home, and there are plenty of spots to relax.

Relaxing in the cheery family room with bright yellow walls is always a good idea. For entertainment, there are Roku, Chromecast, and HDMI hookups for your own devices. You can also take the spiral staircase to the second level and look out at the water from the large windows there.

If you're someone who loves nature, a serene getaway is what you may have when staying here. In the neighborhood is a farm you can walk to and pick up eggs, or call ahead to schedule a farm tour for an alpaca encounter. For boating access, there's a boat ramp down the street, so bring a kayak or boat with you—though be mindful of the tides.

In addition to close-by amenities within the neighborhood, Casa Blue Heron is also near Chincoteague Bay, Assateague Island, the town of Berlin, and the Ocean City Boardwalk. As you can see, although it's remote, you'll be within arm's reach of some of the Eastern Shore's most beloved locales. However, the vacation home is in such a tranquil setting that you may be compelled to stay as opposed to exploring. If I were to stay here, you'd find me with a cup of coffee on the private dock overlooking the water and watching the birds. Or, perhaps, I'll take one of the home's kayaks out on the water to explore the wetlands and waterways. Seems quite peaceful, doesn't it?

As summer draws to a close and fall begins, consider a rural waterfront getaway in Maryland. With a private dock where you can sit, relax, and watch the wildlife, there's no place I'd rather be this fall.
