Buckhorn dates back to the 1800s when it was a sporting lodge.

It sits right on lower and middle Jo-Mary Lakes which means there's a lot of beauty and even more activities to enjoy.

The camps are run by Katy Wood and Bud Utecht who bring a ton of passion to this place. You'll feel it as soon as you arrive!

And arriving is one of the best parts! The lake frontage means guests can arrive by seaplane. Or course, driving works too. Just be aware that the rural location means you may lose cell service, which is all part of the fun. The camps are located within the North Maine Woods and you'll need to pay a fee of $22 to enter.

Once you're here it will all be worth it. There are six different cabins, all of various sizes.

They all offer private bathrooms, kitchens, wood stoves, and propane lights.

Buckhorn Camps are open year-round. A stay during the winter season (mid-January through mid-March) including bedding and towels and no meal plan is $95.
