Wake Up On The Water With A Stay On This Rural Houseboat In Maine

Floating Camp Nomad in Pemaquid Pond, Maine offers a unique houseboat stay with scenic views and rural charm.

There's nothing quite like rural Maine. Quiet streets, friendly people and proximity to all things nature are just a few of the reasons why we love it. And, luckily, while many people are led to believe that most of Maine is like Portland, the reality is that much of Maine is actually a bit rural. Whether you're from away or have called this state home your whole life, experiencing this other side of Maine is a must and staying at this houseboat is a great way to do it!

Located in Lincoln County, Pemaquid Pond feels miles away from it all. While not terribly far from places like Damariscotta, the area offers the feel of rural Maine which is unlike any other part of the world!

It's also where you'll find the Floating Camp Nomad. This beautiful houseboat offers sleeping space for four people, along with a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and plenty of outdoor space.

When you arrive you'll be greeted by a host at the shore who will take you across the pond to the boat. From here you'll have access to everything aboard the boat.

That includes the kitchen which has everything you'll need to prepare your meals for four. The boat has a gas stove and a fridge.

It also means access to the bright, airy vibes that permeate this unique overnight stay. There's plenty of space to relax inside.

There's also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower.

We love just how much room there is to enjoy the great outdoors, too. The upper deck area offers 360-degree views and plenty of fresh air and Maine breezes. There's even a firepit!

And when it's time for bed, the cozy sleeping space is a delight. Nomad features a double bed loft with pop-up hatches for looking up at the stars.

In addition to the double bed loft, there are also two single bed options in the front and back of the boat.

You'll find everything you need to have a great time right here on Floating Camp Nomad. Remember to take the time for a swim, read a good book and enjoy everything that a trip on the water in Maine offers.

Floating Camp Nomad is available seasonally and can be booked by checking out this listing on Airbnb. The cost is approximately $350 per night and everything you'll need is included with the exception of food. The houseboat cannot be driven except by the host so a stay does not require any boating knowledge. Be prepared for a beautiful, but slightly off-grid stay as there's no wifi and cell service may be spotty depending on your carrier.

If you prefer your getaways to include a few more people you'll want to head to one of the more touristy areas of the state. They all offer plenty to see and do, so certainly don't avoid these places simply because they've already been discovered. With attractions galore, the small town of Boothbay Harbor, Maine is perfect for a family getaway.
