5 Romantic Airbnbs in Maine, Ideal for a Getaway Any Time of Year

The Pine Tree State might just be America's most beautiful, and these six romantic Airbnbs in Maine are the perfect way to see it as a couple.

Maine isn't my home state, but I've come to love it during my visits. I plan to visit again this year, hopefully with someone special, and explore many favorite and new destinations. I can't wait to show them around and find the perfect place for us to stay. When I travel solo, I usually stay in a moderate chain hotel; however, vacation rentals offer more room and activities for a quiet night in, making them ideal for couples and larger groups. I started looking for the most romantic Airbnbs in Maine and found these six rentals, including rustic cabins, unique converted buildings, and an architectural marvel. I'm pretty sure one of them is perfect for my next trip, and I hope you find the stay of your dreams, too.

1. Come Spring Farm Glamping Dome (Union)

This stunning glamping dome might be just the ticket for a memorable getaway for couples who want to experience a taste of luxury in the great outdoors. Sleeping four and located on a beautiful rural farm home to pigs, goats, and alpacas, it features beautiful lounge areas and amazing views of the surrounding natural landscape. Kayaks are available in the spring to explore the farm's beautiful pond.

2. Majestic Estate (Newry)

Most couples' getaways are solo events, but what happens when a whole group of couples are looking for an epic getaway? You book a week at this massive castle-like estate. With nine bedrooms sleeping up to 16 guests, it's home to some of the most unique amenities in the state, including an arcade, a rec room, a sauna, and a pool area that feels more like a waterpark. It's the perfect place for a pre-wedding getaway.

3. Spruce Cove Cabin (Eliot)

This rustic cabin in small-town Eliot is ideal for couples who want a peaceful getaway. Even though the town is only a short drive from Maine's beautiful beach cities, it feels like a world away. The outdoor fire pit and charcoal grill are ideal for a cookout, and the views of the Piscataqua River are stunning. It's like having your own slice of heaven to retreat to after a day exploring the Maine coastline.

4. The Sparrow's Nest (Boothbay Harbor)

Boothbay Harbor, located right by the coastal islands with stunning views from all sides, is one of my favorite spots in Maine. A lovely little cottage on the banks of the Sheepscot River, The Sparrow's Nest sits near trails and attractions. Built from historic trees that once surrounded the property, the house is designed to be warm and white inside and out. This two-bedroom Airbnb that comfortably sleeps three might have the most overtly romantic feel of any Airbnb in Maine.

5. Green Camp (Kennebunkport)

A house rarely needs no introduction, but The Green House is no ordinary house. Designed by iconic Maine architect Caleb Johnson, it's known for its massive windows and natural light. The Airbnb, located on three acres of pristine land, is ideal for a larger group. The three bedrooms comfortably sleep six. It's a unique experience that makes you feel like you're in someone's beautiful brainchild.
