With our verdant forests and ample coastal areas, there’s always a stellar view to be had. Our idyllic lakes are also quite something. Of course, Maine is beautiful year-round, but there's something extra magical about planning a getaway in the springtime when everything is coming back to life after winter. You will adore this cozy lakefront cabin near Waltham with its own sandy beach on the northern end of Graham Lake. It’s the perfect getaway for up to four people to have a most splendid and secluded stay.

The wooden floors and ceilings create a homey, rustic feel, and you’ll love sinking into the comfy couches and warming yourself by the wood-burning stove fireplace. The rocking chairs provide an old-fashioned way to relax and enjoy the lush green views through the large windows.

The full kitchen boasts a large island that doubles as prep space and a seating and eating area. A modern gas stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave will make cooking easy. All the utensils and wares you’ll need are here, and there are three ways to make coffee: a coffee maker, a French press, and a Keurig machine. That may sound excessive, but as a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur, I deeply appreciate this.

There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, with bedsheets, linens, towels, and everything else you’ll need to stay comfortably well-rested and freshen up after your outdoor adventures.

Speaking of outdoor adventures, this lakefront Airbnb is only 35 miles from Acadia National Park. My fellow coworker, Sarah McCosham, recently visited this park in January with her kid and had a wonderful time reconnecting with nature.

You’ll love sitting around the fire pit sharing stories, making s’mores, and gazing at the billions of stars in the evenings. Hearing the birds chirping and seeing wildlife around makes for a majestic stay.

There’s a private dock, a kayak, an outdoor grill for barbecuing, a hammock to relax in, and the stunning sunsets are an extra bonus. You would find me in this hammock every dawn and dusk of my stay with a coffee in hand, that's for sure.

In the mornings, you’ll be greeted by a sunrise that’s just as lovely as the sunset. Day or night, you will find delight at this truly wonderful cabin by the lake. You may find yourself returning again and again with this as a favorite getaway spot.
