Spend The Night In An Underground Missile Silo In Kansas

There's no shortage of unique places to stay in Kansas. We've got it all, from historic hotels to quirky vacation rentals. However, the spot we're featuring today is a little more special than most. After all, it's not every day that you get to say you slept in an underground missile silo... but that's just what you'll find at this eccentric spot! This missile silo Airbnb in Wilson, KS has quite the history, and it's now a vacation rental where you can stay for a few nights. Whether you're traveling in from out of state or enjoying a staycation near home, this will certainly be one of the most interesting parts of your trip to the area!

Before this was an Airbnb, it was a missile silo, a facility designed to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile in the event of nuclear war. After the Cold War, it was actually converted into a spaceship.

The living room is considered a shared space, as the property is also an educational center and there are timed tours throughout the day.

During your stay here, you'll have private access to the top floor, which includes two bedrooms with three beds, plus a bathroom and kitchenette.

This area was once used as living quarters for the missileers that resided on the property.

During your stay, you'll be given a guided tour by the property owner and get to go down to the lower level, where you'll see the gutted launch systems and the one-ton doors that protected the missileers from attack.

This place is quite fascinating, and while some aspects were changed for security purposes when the silo was decommissioned, there's a surprising amount to see even today.

It's hard to believe that all of that is hiding underground - this is certainly one of the most unique Airbnbs in Kansas!
