Sleep Among the Treetops at This Unique Iowa Vacation Rental
Looking for an idyllic escape from real life (and ground level)? This incredible vacation rental in Iowa is the treehouse of your childhood dreams.
It seems to me that a handful of states smack-dab in the center of the United States are ignored all the time. Of these tragically underrated states, Iowa is near the top of my list. Seriously, what's usually dismissed as "flyover country" by those who don't know what they're talking about is an amazing place filled with history, small towns, and incredibly unique places to stay.
Hidden away in Oxford, Iowa, for example, is a treehouse escape from the real world that you'll never, ever want to leave. I sure didn't. I wish I could live here, but alas, since it's one of the best Airbnbs in Iowa - we could only stay a while. It's like something out of a dream - a dream involving treetops, rest, and relaxation.
Behold, a woodland splendor:
This awesome little escape from the real world is more than "just" a treehouse, too. It's located on a working lavender farm, and it makes for an incredibly unique experience in a setting you'll never forget. With stunning views through every floor-to-ceiling window and from the jaw-dropping spacious deck, it's perfect for a solo outing or a couples' adventure. It's got two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and tons of peace and quiet.
Indoor features include heated floors, which are positively luxurious during the colder months, a king-sized bed that's sure to be one of the coziest places you've ever slept, a fireplace, and high-speed internet, so if you need to work, you can do so in style and with ease.
Meandering outside, you'll find that this is an amazing place for some good old-fashioned birdwatching and wildlife viewing. Squirrels, deer, foxes, and other critters are commonly spotted here, and they're a delight to watch as they go about their daily lives.
In the spring and summer, the lavender farm the treehouse is located on hosts all sorts of fun lavender-based classes, so be sure to check those out. Wander through the lavender fields, which are also outrageously dreamlike - they also make for an incredible wedding or event venue. The possibilities are endless; there's enough to do on the farm that theoretically you wouldn't have to leave the grounds during your whole stay.
Are you hoping to go swimming or otherwise enjoy the great outdoors? The treehouse isn't terribly far from F.W. Kent Park, which is home to one of the best swimming holes in Iowa. And when you're tired, you know you're coming back to one of the coziest destinations in the state.
