Located south of Indy in the town of Columbus, The Inn at Irwin Gardens is a historic home that was turned into a bed & breakfast in 2010.

Originally constructed as a private home in 1864, this charming hotel has a long history of expansions and renovations, the most recent and most extensive taking place in 1910. The gardens themselves were constructed from 1910 to 1913 and are the most magnificent part of this property.

Irwin Gardens features fountains, stone figures, pergolas, arches, as well as an herb garden that guests love.

The gardens are open to the public for free, and guided tours are available on Tuesdays and Sundays from 1 to 2 p.m. for $15 per person. Private tours can also be arranged.

The Inn at Irwin Gardens is also home to a greenhouse known as the Gardner's Farm that grows excellent organic fruits and vegetables that are used in the meals made on-site.

Room rates run between $205 and $260 per night, and there are five rooms to choose from at the inn. Most include king beds, TVs, desks, seating areas, private bathrooms, and plenty of space. A fresh breakfast is made available daily for overnight guests.
