Indiana is not exactly known for its being a winter wonderland, but perhaps that should change. As it turns out, our little corner of the country is quite the hip and happening spot during the coldest months, and there are plenty of small towns and luxurious stays that go all-out for the holidays. One of the best escapes you can possibly take, for example, just so happens to be one of the most luxurious winter getaways in French Lick, Indiana - the awe-inspiring legend that is the French Lick Springs Resort.

French Lick Resort is 4,200 acres of amazingness all year long, but in the winter, it's especially amazing.

There are three hotels on the resort grounds: French Lick Springs, West Baden Springs, and Valley Tower.

To say that these are luxurious escapes is to understate things a bit.

Each of these hotels is amazingly designed and incredibly elegant, and each has lots of reasons to check it out. Personally, I'd do a three-night stay: one in each hotel!

West Baden Springs was built in 1901 and was originally known as the West Baden Inn.

Its utterly incredible claim to fame is the 200-foot circular atrium within the hotel that, of course, always gets decked out for the holidays.

Truly - just look at it. What a masterpiece.

This hotel is so awe-inspiring that it was quite literally heralded as the "8th Wonder of the World" once it completed construction. It is nothing short of an experience.

French Lick Springs was originally established back in 1845 as - you guessed it - a mineral springs resort. The Valley Tower Hotel is more modern and "hip", but all three have endless events going on for Christmas.
