Ring In The New Year With Live DJs And Fellow Party-Goers Online At The Drake Hotel’s Virtual Party In Illinois

Ringing in the new year is sure going to look different this New Year's Eve, at least it will for most of us. With the challenges 2020 has brought upon the world, i.e. the pandemic, large New Year's gatherings are unlikely to happen on December 31st.

The Drake Hotel has hosted a huge New Year's Eve bash annually for the past 20 years, but this year is going to look a bit different. The hotel's 21st Anniversary New Year's Eve party will be held online to close out 2020.

In normal years, The Drake Hotel's New Year's Eve celebration is host to 3,000 partygoers who drink and dance the night away as the end of one year rolls into the beginning of the next.

Voted the "Best Chicago New Year's Eve Party" by several media outlets, the party spans across five ballrooms. Plenty of top-shelf cocktails, wine, and beer are served along with plenty of food items selected by the chef. At midnight, the celebration of a new year culminates with a balloon drop and champagne toast.

But, this year, there will be no large gatherings of people partying together at The Drake due to the pandemic. Instead, the event will be hosted virtually by Chicago Scene who has put on the party at the Drake for the past 20 years. It is sure to be a fun Zoom call with thousands of fellow partygoers and a safer alternative to partying in person this year.

Tickets to the online NYE party are by donation only and will benefit charity, a great way to give back during this otherwise challenging year. Give what you can and once you submit your donation, a link to the event will be emailed to you.

There are several DJs slated to perform live on Zoom so you can dance the night away in your living room! The event planners are also working together with several area restaurants from which you can order prepared dinners for two-to-ten people that include party favors for your at-home NYE party.

This New Year's Eve event that benefits charity will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 9 pm through Friday, January 1, 2021, at 12:30 am CST.

Next year, The Drake will be bringing its party back to the hotel!
