The land was once home to an old hunter's cabin at the foot of a Native American trail that leads to Lake Michigan.

Opening as a hotel in 1929, the house was redesigned to resemble an English mansion like those in the Kent, England. The garden is its most immaculate aspect.

In 1992, the hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places and was named a member of the Historic Hotels of America.

There are 55 guest rooms and suites at Deer Path Inn. Rates range from about $320 per night for double queen beds to $670 per night for the Royal King Suite.

Some rooms include luxurious accommodations like fireplaces, walk-in showers, and nice tubs. All are fitted with upscale sheets, treats, and fabulous decor that will make you want to stay forever.
