We think not, and though we profiled 12 amazing camping spots last year, we're back at it again with 14 more incredible, rustic spots to pitch a tent. Some of these campsites are easy to reach, and others, well, let's just say that you will definitely want to pack lightly.

1. Waimanalo Beach Park

Often touted as Oahu's greatest beach, Waimanalo is, quite simply, what dreams are made of. The picturesque beach is a popular spot to pitch a tent - or stay in one of the charming Waimanalo Beach Cottages.

2. Haleakala National Park

Haleakala National Park is Maui’s sparkling gem, and within the park are three lovely wilderness cabins and two campsites maintained by the National Park Service. However, you will need to put forth some effort in getting there – the cabins are accessible only via hiking a minimum of 3.7, or as far as 9.3, miles.

3. Polihale State Park

At the end of a long dirt road off Kuamuali’I Highway, Polihale is the largest stretch of sand in Hawaii. While often overlooked for more accessible Kauai beaches, the secluded spot is the perfect place to for a weekend retreat into wilderness.
