If you're looking for somewhere unusual to stay in Georgia, we've got lots of great options. Unique Airbnbs, quirky hotels, camping opportunities: the choices are virtually endless. One of our favorite spots is a quirky, retro-themed hotel right in the heart of the beautiful historic district in downtown Savannah. The Thunderbird Inn is a colorful delight that looks straight out of "The Brady Bunch" or "The Jetsons." You'll feel right at home with all the amenities you'll enjoy here, without having to pay an arm and a leg for an overnight stay. And it's dog-friendly, so the entire family is welcome to come along for the adventure!
The Thunderbird Inn was constructed in 1964 and remains a staple of the downtown Savannah area today.
You really can't miss that iconic neon sign!
The building is on the National Register of Historic Places for its status as an early 1960s motor lodge.
There are a variety of cozy rooms here, each outfitted with modern-day amenities like Wi-Fi and brand new mattresses. However, there are still funky 1960s touches in the decor!
The Thunderbird Inn is pet-friendly and even has a small dog park on site.
Head on down to the refreshments area for coffee and doughnuts in the morning...
...and popcorn and soda in the afternoon!
This charming retro hotel provides quality service at budget prices, all in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
