Who doesn't love a cabin on a lake? If you're dreaming of a lakefront getaway this summer or anytime, then you'll love this vacation home rental in La Plata County, Colorado. La Plata County is in the southwestern part of the state and borders New Mexico; Durango is right in the middle of it. This amazing cabin sleeps four, is near the eastern edge of La Plata County, and is on Vallecito Reservoir - it's easy to see why we think this is one of the best places to stay in Colorado.

Look at this wonderful little cabin! It's one of two cabins owned by this host - they're right next to each other.

These cabins are on Vallecito Reservoir. This body of water is also known as Vallecito Lake. It was created in 1941 and is 4,010 feet long and about 121 feet deep. It has 12 miles of shoreline and is stocked with trout, pike, and Kokanee salmon.

Boating, swimming, fishing, and paddle boarding are all allowed in this reservoir. There are tons of biking and hiking trails to explore in this area, too!

This rental cabin is across the street from the reservoir, so you'll be able to have easy access and enjoy incredible views.

If you are like me and want to explore this remarkable area, I’ve found just the place to stay for a few days. It’s a cozy cabin Airbnb that’s perfect for a family getaway.

There’s something relaxing, refreshing, and magical about spending time in the mountains. This cozy cabin vacation rental allows you to immerse yourself in one of the most picturesque mountain towns in Colorado.
