The magical Harry Potter series is known all over the world. Whether you've seen some of the films or you've read all of the books, muggles everywhere probably have an idea of what Hogwarts looks like. The captivating settings described in the world of Harry Potter are based on real locations in Europe. However, taking a 15-hour flight to Scotland isn't the only way to experience the architectural beauty reminiscent of the Wizarding World.

San Fransisco, California, is home to some incredible sights, historical landmarks, and unique architecture. The historic Palace Hotel, located downtown, is one of the most magically beautiful buildings in the city. And its gorgeous Garden Court most definitely feels like it could have existed in the Harry Potter books.

The hotel grounds feel very magical throughout, but the Garden Court and Lounge areas are especially bewitching.

The dramatic Garden Court is remarkable and feels European-inspired.

The detailing of this section is very grand and whimsical and there is both a restaurant and a lounge for guests to experience.

Guests can enjoy afternoon tea, a Prix Fixe lunch, and other meals in this area.

If you don't plan on staying at the hotel, you can still book a reservation to eat and take photos of the gorgeous interior.

The details of the ceiling are very impressive. The design is comparable with architecture found in the United Kingdom.

Because of the extensive windows and glass ceiling, visitors of the hotel experience a change of scenery throughout the day. The mood of the hotel feels even more alluring as the sun goes down.

In another section of The Palace, guests can experience a darker tone at the Pied Piper Restaurant.

The restaurant is connected to a bar and lounge area as well.

The Pied Piper Lounge, like the restaurant, is very charming and could fit right in as a Harry Potter setting from the books.

The theming of this section feels very vintage-inspired, and the architecture feels similar to an old school library.

The Palace is an iconic location that fits right into San Fransisco's downtown, but the enchanting interior might cause you to forget you're in Northern California.
