Reconnect With Nature Without Leaving City Limits At Springhill Campground And Trail In Arkansas

Springhill Park in Barling offers a variety of outdoor activities and amenities, making it a perfect weekend getaway for families and RV travelers.

Don't get us wrong, we love road trips, elaborate glampgrounds, and state park retreats, but sometimes you just need a quick and easy trip for the family. This city park is so much more than a couple of swing sets — it can facilitate a whole weekend of camping! Let's explore the trail and campground at Barling's Springhill Park.

It's easy to zoom over and miss Barling's Springhill Park but this riverside retreat has something for everyone to enjoy.

The park is next to the Trimble Lock and Dam on the Arkansas River. It's a great stop for traveling RVs but there's plenty of activities to keep the family captivated for a weekend.

The trail will tour you around the park and even transport you into a lush forest.

The main walking path is simply the Springhill Park Trail. It's a 5.7-mile loop around the park that's filled with songbirds, canopy greenery, and easy-to-follow markings. The park also features about 10 miles of mountain biking trails for a faster-paced adventure.

Just take the trail for an afternoon getaway or stay a night or two.

The RV sites at the park are pleasantly spacious and have the necessary hook-ups for easy overnight trips. Pack your fishing gear to take advantage of the year-round nibbles from bass, crappie, bream, and catfish.

Tents are welcomed here as well for a more primitive experience.

Showers, grills, and a nearby playground are some of the amenities to aid in a relaxing weekend. Sites sit between the John Paul Hammerschmidt Lake and Massard Creek for a quiet night outdoors.

This unexpected treasure will reconnect you to nature without ever needing to leave town.

Whether you bring your big toys like an RV and boat or just a good pair of walking shoes, this city park is a peaceful break from the 9-5.
