Here are three Arkansas Airbnbs close to some of the state’s most spectacular waterfalls for your next stay-and-hike adventure.

When springtime arrives, and we plan to spend more time outside, a favorite activity for many is chasing waterfalls. There's something so peaceful, so calming, and so awe-inspiring when standing before a magnificent cascade, its rushing waters falling into a pool below. Spring is also a wonderful time for a quick overnight getaway, and if you're interested in taking a stay-and-hike adventure, here are a few waterfalls and Airbnbs near waterfall trails in Arkansas.

Epic Waterfall Trails in Arkansas

1. Hemmed in Hollow Trail - Compton, AR

The Hemmed-in-Hollow Trail, which leads to a waterfall by the same name, is the sort of trek that requires some planning — it's certainly not for novice hikers. At 5.7 miles and a 1,420-foot elevation gain, this is a strenuous hike through the Buffalo National River Wilderness Area. But if you're prepared with the right footwear and gear, have the physical endurance, and desire, the rewards are certainly great. Hemmed-in-Hollow Falls is the tallest waterfall in the middle part of our country at nearly 210 feet. This impressive cascade may not be easy to get to, but you'll be so glad you made the trek!

Before embarking on a hike like this, make sure to pack the right gear, bring plenty of water, and download AllTrails+ to your phone.

2. Crooked Creek Falls - Caddo Gap, AR

Just off Crooked Creek Road in the Ouachita National Forest, Crooked Creek Falls is reachable via a short and sweet hike. The 0.3-mile trail is nearly flat the entire way, making it easy enough for families to take young children to see the gorgeous waterfall cascading into a pool below. There's plenty of parking by the trailhead, and, best of all, you're allowed to swim in the natural swimming hole below the falls!

3. Magnolia Falls Trail - Deer, AR

Located within Upper Buffalo Wilderness in the Ozarks, the 2.1-mile, out-and-back Magnolia Falls Trail is a relatively easy adventure to a lovely waterfall best seen after a rainfall. The elevation gain is only 226 feet, but there is a steep climb towards the end of the trail.

Please note that there is no parking lot at the trailhead; instead, hikers must park along a dirt road. There's also no official sign at the trailhead, so it's best to have the AllTrails app on your phone to find it. However, the trail itself is easy to navigate.
