Arizona has no shortage of incredible Airbnbs, but only one can be the most bookmarked in the state. That prestigious honor goes to a remote Navajo Hogan near the Grand Canyon, and it promises an unforgettable experience.
Cameron, Arizona. Population: 929.
This town might be little more than a blip on the map, but it's also home to the most bookmarked Airbnb in Arizona.
Although it's located just 30 miles east of the Grand Canyon, this traditional Hogan, or Earth home, feels like an entirely different world.
Step away from the daily grind and get back to nature with a no-frills overnight stay in the middle of the Arizona desert.
The Hogan sleeps three guests and is extremely cozy (albeit rustic).
If you're in search of a five-star hotel experience, look elsewhere - the amenities are minimalistic, but luxury isn't the point. Here, it's all about unplugging and embracing the ways of life before the modern world took over.
Well-provisioned, the Hogan features bottled water, coffee mugs, bowls, and even a few creature comforts like electric outlets and a battery-powered lantern.
There is no indoor plumbing, so you'll have to take a short walk to an outhouse north of the home.
Firewood is provided, which you'll need to cook on the wood-burning stove.
Additional supplies include kindling, newspaper, and lighters, so you shouldn't have any trouble keeping the flames going.
You'll also be given a first aid kit in case of any minor injuries.
With your basics covered, all that's left to do is relax and enjoy the bliss of total solitude.
Perhaps the best thing about staying in the Hogan is the view.
Sweeping panoramic vistas of the San Francisco Peaks promise to leave you awestruck, and at night, billions of glittering stars illuminate the pitch darkness.
