I’m an oddball, but I actually prefer winter getaways over summer getaways. Maybe it’s because I grew up in New Orleans, where the summers can be unforgivingly brutal (not that Arizona’s summers are any less brutal!). This cabin in Cane Beds, Arizona, an unincorporated community in Mohave County, isn’t your typical cabin—it’s a luxury cabin in all of the best ways. The first thing you’ll notice is that you’ll be the only one around! Guests have access to a stunning private canyon for hiking, and two kayaks are also available for use when the weather is warm enough. You’ll need to transport them yourself to the nearby reservoir, which is about 10 minutes away (or the owners can do it for a small fee).

Back to those fresh eggs. Wondering why? Well, there are plenty of farm animals running around, and they’d love some boops and scritches.
