This Historic Lodge Nestled On The Banks Of A Stunning Alaska Lake Is A Must-Visit

As Alaskans, we get the privilege to see and stay in our historic buildings pretty often. Even with our harsh weather, we have managed to keep up some of the oldest buildings in the state! Trail Lake Lodge is a historic Alaskan lodge that has been maintained well, and is more beautiful than ever.

Trail Lake Lodge is located right off the Seward Highway.

It was built in the late 1940's, and maintained consistently, even added to over the years. It’s situated right on the banks of the stunning Trail Lakes.

Trail Lake is known for its fantastic fishing, and the lodge doesn’t disappoint!

You can rent a boat for a great day of fishing. In fact, many of the guests come here for just that.

But don’t think you’re limited to just fishing!

If you’re interested in exploring the area, head out in one of their kayaks! The lake is large enough to spend a day paddling all around the nooks and crannies.

Definitely expect to see some great Alaskan wildlife!

You are in the Kenai Peninsula after all. This gorgeous moose and her calves were hanging around the property by the docks.

If you interested in exploring further than a boat can take you, Trail Lake Lodge has you covered!

Ask to have them set you up in a guided float plane excursion and head into the backcountry. The views won’t disappoint, and you’ll probably see some of the more elusive wildlife, like brown bears. Or fly-in to a remote fishing area!
