You Can Stay in an Enchanting Castle Airbnb in Alabama
Enjoy an enchanting weekend getaway with a stay in this castle Airbnb in Alabama.
I’m a big fan of adding a little whimsy to your life, especially when traveling. While staying in a hotel certainly has some perks, if I find a themed vacation rental within my budget, I’m sold. I can’t think of a better way to embrace the whimsy than by staying in a castle, and there’s a castle Airbnb in Alabama that’s practically perfect in every way. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like royalty and live out your Disney dreams, put this castle in Fairhope on your list!
The Storybook Castle in Fairhope is one of the most popular Airbnbs in Alabama. From the moment you pull in to the driveway, you’ll be mesmerized by the perfectly manicured gardens, the beautiful blooms, and the overall whimsical vibes.
There are several castles on the grounds, and the available space is a private studio located within the Sheldon Castle. Guests have their own entrance and plenty of privacy.
The exterior may evoke a medieval feel, but the interior is modern and cozy. The vaulted ceilings and exposed beams add a rustic charm while allowing for ample space in a studio setting. The space is designed for two people, although if there are families with children (especially toddlers), a third bed can be added after some safety discussions.
The kitchenette features a refrigerator, microwave, and sink; however, please note that it does not include a stove. Instead, guests are encouraged to use the outdoor grill.
Speaking of outdoors, you’ll find plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the surroundings. There is plenty of wildlife in the area, especially a few owls which are often spotted resting in the trees or on the roofs of the castle.
Every castle needs a guardian, and you’ll find two cats taking the job very seriously! Kyra and Who Mi are self-proclaimed guardians of the grounds and are very friendly. Despite their persistence, please do not let them into the suite! They belong to residents who live on the grounds and are well cared for.
Guests are welcome to wander the grounds and take in the sights of all three castles: Mosher, Sheldon, and Boom Castles, as well as the unique ponds, bridges, and gardens on the property. Obviously, don’t go peering in windows of other homes, but just strolling around the area will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a Renaissance Fair.
You’ll find plenty of things to do in Fairhope. I’d recommend swinging by Page & Palette, a local independent bookshop in Fairhope. The family-owned bookstore has been a local landmark for over 40 years, and boasts a coffee shop, wine bar, and even live music on select nights. For a family-friendly activity, head over to Fairhoper’s Community Park. From the pirate-themed splash pad to the larger-than-life dinosaur statue, this park is just as whimsical as the castle Airbnb.
