This Alabama Airbnb Looks Like It Belongs in the Caribbean
Boasting beautiful ocean views, this Alabama Airbnb looks like it belongs in the Caribbean!
I’m a winter girly through and through. While everyone pines for the dog days of summer, I’m searching for flights to surround myself with snowcapped mountains and endless cups of hot chocolate. Even though winter is my favorite season, by the end of it, I often poke around vacation rentals to see what my options are for a beach getaway. In my quest for a sandy escape, I found an Alabama Airbnb that looks like it belongs in the Caribbean. If you’re counting down the days until warmer weather prevails, this waterfront vacation rental might be just what you need.
What Makes This Airbnb Look Like the Caribbean
Alabama doesn’t have much of a coastline (about 60 miles), but this place on Dauphin Island might be one of the most unique Airbnbs in Alabama. If you want to escape to a coastal oasis without a passport, book this beachfront Airbnb in Alabama.
Named Waterbirds, this vacation rental sits directly on the beach and offers unobstructed views of the Gulf and its white sandy beaches. Whether you want to enjoy the scenery from the deck or the beach, you’ll never tire of those beautiful beach views.
The Best Features of This Alabama Airbnb
There’s a lot to love about this Alabama Airbnb that looks like the Caribbean. It’s the perfect place for reunions, wedding parties, or family gatherings, as it can accommodate up to 15 people with its four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bring the whole squad, there’s plenty of space for everyone!
I’m a big fan of open concept designs, especially in rentals like this. Everyone can be a part of the conversations, regardless of whether you’re sitting in the living room or cooking up a meal in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, it’s fully stocked with stainless steel, top-of-the-line appliances, and all of the essential tools you need to cook with. There’s also a gas grill on the deck, should you wish to impress your squad with your famous flame-grilled burgers.
The vacation rental was recently renovated in 2024, and they added a few special touches, which I appreciate. For starters, I’m a sucker for a swing set. Yes, I may be entering my fourth decade, but my inner child will forever love a good swing set—and this one comes with a view! There’s also a hammock under the house, which looks like the perfect spot to curl up with a good book and enjoy the Gulf breeze.
Nearby Attractions to Explore While Staying Here
The beauty of Dauphin Island is second to none. Known as the “Sunset Capital of Alabama,” a sunset beach walk is non-negotiable when you stay here. Much of the island’s charm is in its simplicity—it’s a quiet little beach town where you can relax and recharge with your toes in the sand and the sun on your face.
Like many coastal islands, Dauphin Island is a bird nerd’s paradise. The Audubon Bird Sanctuary is a must-stop for bird lovers as it provides a safe haven for hundreds of migratory birds. Bring your camera and spend the afternoon strolling around, and see what birds and wildlife you can find!
Fishing out of Dauphin Island is a bucket list item for many anglers. Captain T is a local charter company offering several excursions, including both inshore and offshore trips. Bring your fishing license and set off on a fishing excursion of a lifetime! Then bring your catch of the day back to the Airbnb and cook yourself a nice meal
