Recently, Wyoming earned 5th place on a list of the Friendliest States in America - see the full ranking here - and if you've spent any time in the Cowboy State, that comes as no surprise. Take a look at a few of the reasons Wyoming has earned its place on the list!

There's a sense of community and tradition, even in our "big" cities.

You'll always make new friends if you attend an event in Wyoming, even if you're from out of town. Spend some time at the Cody Nite Rodeo to see just what I mean.

Even though we might complain about tourists, we truly enjoy sharing our great state.

We love Wyoming - and we love it when other people love Wyoming, too. Sure, the crowds can be a bit much, but at the end of the day, we're thrilled to live here and happy that others see the beauty.

The same theory applies to our ski resorts. We keep the hidden gems to ourselves, but we're happy to share the slopes at Targhee or Jackson Hole.

No wonder people travel from all over to enjoy time at Wyoming's mountain resorts.

Need your car dug out? We've got you. Thru-hiking the CDT? Wyoming will welcome you with open arms, and maybe some trail magic.

It's hard to be in a bad mood when you're surrounded by the most beautiful scenery.

Seriously - try paddling Jackson or Fremont lake without a huge smile on your face. Can't be done!

You'll always be able to find a fishing buddy.

Wyomingites are quick to drop their formal plans to spend some time on the river or around a campfire.
