Here Are 12 Things Everyone In Milwaukee Absolutely Loves

Whether you're a seasoned Milwaukeean or still new to our highly underrated city, there's a lot to love about MKE. From our art scene, to our food, to our beer (of course), there are some things that are simply impossible not to adore here. Here are twelve things that all Milwaukeeans (and visitors) love without question.

1. The Brewers, the Bucks, and the Packers, forever.

We're the best fans in the country, hands down.

2. Endless diversity.

Milwaukee's been fighting issues of unity for a long time, but if you look around, there is such a diverse population here. From our neighborhoods, to our food, to our music, we're bursting with culture.

3. The Milverine.

If you're a Milwaukeean, you know exactly who the infamous Milverine is. This Milwaukee man resembles the Wolverine, and fast-walks the streets without a shirt on. His real name is John, and we love him.

4. The smell of (good) coffee in the morning.

Colectivo, Anodyne, Stone Creek, and many other fantastic roasters call Milwaukee home! We're spoiled with the good stuff, and we all have a favorite little local shop that serves up an unbeatable cup o' joe.

5. Beer. All of the beer.

This one is obvious, we are Brew City, but we're honestly crazy about brews. We're always willing to try out a new microbrewery, but we won't turn down a good ol' Pabst either.

6. Complaining about the endlessly changing weather.

Although we love having four distinct seasons, our weather doesn't make sense most of the time, and talking about it just never gets old. It's funny how the forecast can still surprise us year after year!

7. Lake life.

Living right on the beautiful Lake Michigan has all of the perks of a seaside vibe, while still being in our beloved Midwest. In our opinion, this coast is just as good (if not better) than any ocean.

8. A concert at the Turner Hall, the Pabst, or the Riverside.

You don't have to travel far to hear incredible musicians, and our venues are so cool.

9. Festivals... any time, any day.

There's a reason we're called the "City of Festivals". We celebrate everything. We'll never run out of reasons to throw a big ol' party.

10. The ever-expanding food scene.

Our food culture is seriously growing at an increasingly rapid pace. Check out our best new restaurant of the year! There's nothing ordinary about Milwaukee restaurants, and they serve up dishes to die for.

11. Fighting over which frozen custard spot is the best.

12. Our neighbors, near and far.

At the end of the day, Milwaukeeans are the most lovable and we love the most. We're some of the best people you'll ever meet, and the odds are we'll think you're great too.
