Here Are 7 Historic Old Photos Taken In Washington And They’re Incredible

A collection of historic photos from Washington State showcases its rich history and instills state pride.

Washington has come a long way since it became a state in 1889, and a lot has happened in the state's history. Since going through old Washington pictures is always fun and interesting, we thought we'd round up a few from the Evergreen State's early days. It will feel like you're traveling back in time as you peruse these old photos of Washington state.

1. Check out the Seattle Waterfront in 1904.

Over 100 years before the Seattle Great Wheel arrived.

2. This was a military hospital at Fort Spokane.

This was taken in the early 1930s.

3. Yikes... here's the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapsing in 1940.

4. Here's a Yakima Valley cherry picker at work in 1936...

5. ... and a migratory worker (and child) in Yakima during the Great Depression.

6. Check out Mt. St. Helens in 1907.

7. What a great shot of Olympia in 1916, complete with the snowcapped Olympic Mountains in the background.
