Most People Don’t Know That Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s Gravesite Is Found Right Here In Virginia

There's an impressive list of famous people from Virginia. Moreover, many celebrities, musicians, and politicians have ties to Virginia, despite being born in different places. One prime example is Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, whose gravesite is located in Arlington National Cemetery. Here's more on the First Lady of the United States and her connection to Virginia.

Jacqueline "Jackie" Lee Kennedy Onassis was born on July 28th, 1929, and served as the First Lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963.

She met her husband, John F. Kennedy, in 1952 at a dinner party in Washington D.C. They married the following year, the same year that Kennedy was appointed to the U.S. Senate.

Jackie Kennedy Onassis was beloved as a First Lady, known for her emphasis on arts, culture, and style.

She was also noteworthy for being the third-youngest First Lady to have been appointed, moving into the White House at age 31.

In 1963, after the tragic assassination of her husband, the former First Lady and her children largely disappeared from the public eye. In 1968, she remarried to Aristotle Onassis.

After her second husband passed away, Onassis continued her career as a book publisher in New York City.

She died in May of 1994, at age 64. Even today, she is still considered among the most popular First Ladies and public figures. In fact, she was named among Gallup's Most-Admired Men and Women of the 20th Century.

She is buried at the famous Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia alongside her first husband, President John F. Kennedy. Her gravesite can be found in Section 45, Grave S-45.
