This Is Utah’s Most Charming House And You Might Recognize It
Does this house look familiar? If you've ever seen the Disney Pixar move "Up," you'll recognize this cheerful, brightly-colored little house immediately. Utah builder Blair Bangerter built the home in the summer of 2011, and sold it to Clinton and Lynette Hamblin later that year. The family of four lives in this replica house and keeps the magic of the Disney film alive.
The home is located at 13215 S. 5390 W. in Herriman.
During the summer and fall of 2011, around 50,000 people drove past to check it out. People still stop by to take a look.
Blair Bangerter made every detail as close as possible to the "Up" house from the movie.
Even tiny details, like the weathervane, are accurate.
When the Hamblin family saw the home for sale, they immediately fell in love with it. Big fans of Disney, they intended to keep the home exactly as Bangerter had built it.
The Hamblins paid around $400,000 for the 2,800 square-foot home, and moved in in January, 2012.
The builder added replica furnishings from the movie for the home's open house, and the Hamblin family kept some of it. Their front room is sometimes used for photo shoots.
The Up House is a popular spot to get engaged!
The Hamblins offer photo shoots of their home (either inside or outside) for a small fee. There's no charge if you're looking for a quick selfie in front of this home, but if you're bringing a photographer, props or will be there for more than a few minutes, the family asks that you set up a photo shoot.
