This U.S. City Ranks Number One In The World For Having Fun

The Windy City may have a new nickname soon, according to a recently-published 2018 Time Out City Life Index. This reporting ranks various places around the world based on livability and it turns out Chicago tops the list. So the next time you find yourself Chi-town bound, you can boast that you're heading to the best city in the world for having fun.

2018 Time Out City Life Index polled 15,000 people in over 30 cities around the world, asking about the livability in various destinations.

For the second consecutive year, Chicago has topped the list for the top city for fun-loving folks in the world.

Factors that went into account were culture, friendliness, livability, dining, things to do, affordability and city pride.

Of course, it's hard to deny Chicago's culinary appeal. Classics like deep dish pizza are only the tip of the iceberg, and new restaurants are seem to be popping up at every corner.

The city's proximity to Lake Michigan allows for endless recreational opportunities that are rare for cities of such size. Summer months mean strolls on Navy Pier, fire pits, and maybe even some kite surfing.
