15 Reasons Why My Heart Will Always Be In Austin

There are a lot of fortunate people that can call Austin their hometown - Born here, raised here, and living my life with my family here. Luckily for Austin transplants, this city has taken care of them just as well as if they were natives. All together it's pretty awesome, and these 15 reasons are why my heart will always be in Austin.

1. That Austin skyline.

2. Austin sunsets.

They're the absolute best with your sweetie, especially.

3. "Texas-Sized" everything.

This stereotype is true. Our food portions are truly Texas-sized.

4. The small town feel in a big city.

Austin is one of the largest cities in the nation, yet you still somehow always feel that small town comfort.

5. The artwork.

Art expands beyond the walls of a museum. This exhibit represents the millions of trees lost to Texas drought.

6. We love horses.

So much, that we get on carriage rides throughout the city.

8. The yoga community.

We do yoga anywhere!

8. Mexican Martinis from Trudy's.

So darn good, you're limited to just two servings before you're cut off!

9. Canoeing, kayaking, water-biking, stand up paddle boarding...

At any lake in Austin. It's HOT most of the year - You can find folks enjoying lake activities rain or shine!

10. Austin has the best festivals of all time.

Really, you will find anything and everything to entertain you for these festivals which are usually free admission or at a very low entry fee.

11. Tons of nature trails with amazing scenery.

Yep, we get the greatest weather paired with awesome nature scenery.

12. Happy Hours are simply the best in Austin.

Happy hours offer ginormous price cuts on tasty morsels, sometimes paired with live music.

13. We do things like a BOSS here.

Shutting down most of downtown for our marathons, for example.

14. The "Keep Austin Weird" motto.

We hold it very close to our hearts, so much that it shows through anything that we do.

15. The people.

The people of Austin....we're the best part! Without us, Austin wouldn't be all of the things that it is.
