While the weather can get extreme in the winter, those who enjoy outdoor activities will find South Dakota to be a winter playground well worth venturing out into the cold for.

All in all, moving to Rapid City, South Dakota, is likely to be a much lower cost of living if you’re coming from a big city, and easily the best place to retire in South Dakota.

Overall, residents of Rapid City, South Dakota, boast a high quality of life. Obviously, residents have endless opportunities for outdoor recreation.
