South Carolina has been the filming location for numerous notable Hollywood movies, earning it the nickname "Little Hollywood."

The results are in. I do believe you can call South Carolina, "Little Hollywood"! On my quest for movies made in South Carolina, I ran into so many that I could not place them all here. Hold on to your shorts and get ready for a rollercoaster ride because this list will blow you away!

20. Accidental Love (2008)

Love to laugh? This movie has it! Good humor, odd humor, and uncomfortable humor! Filmed in Richland, SC.

19. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995)

The funny man was in South Carolina! Filmed in Berkeley, Charleston, and Colleton

18. Chattachoochee (1988)

Have you ever heard of this movie? No? You should look it up! Filmed in Columbia and Newberry, SC

17. Consenting Adults (1992)

Filmed in Berkeley and Charleston, SC

16. Days of Thunder (1990)

Yes, Tom Cruise was here in Darlington, SC, at our famous Darlington Raceway! Filmed in Darlington and York.

15. Dear John (1993)

This is not the only film produced in South Carolina that was based on a Nicholas Spark novel. We have been honored to have a few of them filmed here. This one was filmed in Charleston, SC.

14. Shag (1987)

A good fun movie filmed in Florence, Myrtle Beach, and Georgetown, SC.

13. Deliverance (1971)

No matter how many years pass, this movie will never be forgotten by anyone who has seen it. It was filmed in Long Creek, SC.

12. Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1993)

What? Yes, this feature film was produced right here in Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, SC.

11. Forces of Nature (1998)

This one probably didn't surprise you, but it was filmed in Beaufort and South of the Border.

Another great film (in my opinion) filmed in Beaufort, SC.

Julia Roberts graced us with her presence one more time in this production that was filmed in Beaufort and Jasper, SC.

6. Cold Mountain (2002)

Isn't it amazing? Filmed in Berkeley, Charleston, and Edisto Island, SC.

5. Renaissance Man (1993)

A particularly good movie with Danny DeVito filmed in our capital, Columbia, SC.

4. The Strangers (2006)

A movie that will strike fear in your heart. It was filmed in Florence, SC.

3. Forrest Gump (1993)

Okay, so maybe this one isn't a surprise for you, but it made the list because it holds a special place in my heart. Most people know it was filmed in South Carolina, but I can almost guarantee that not many people know that parts were filmed in the little town of Hampton, SC. It was filmed in Beaufort, Colleton, and Hampton, SC.

2. The Legend of Bagger Vance (1999)

Not much is better than magic except this movie which has magic and it was filmed in Beaufort and Charleston, SC!

1. Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (1990)

One of my favorite movies! Everyone should have as much spirit as this young girl does! Filmed in Myrtle Beach, Orangeburg, and St. Matthews, SC.

South Carolina is even more magical knowing that it is chosen as a backdrop to many great Hollywood films. And, remember, this is only a partial list of what has been filmed here.
