7 Things That Will Always Make You Think About Home Sweet Rhode Island, No Matter Where You Are

Being a Rhode Island local is truly something special. While we are so grateful for our transplants who saw in this gorgeous state what we did and chose to make it home, being native to Rhode Island feels like something special - so much so that it can be really tough for us to leave without constantly seeing reminders of little Rhodey. These seven things are just a few that will always make us think back to home sweet Rhode Island, no matter where we are.

1. Ocean Views

Anywhere we can see the ocean is going to make us think back to little Rhodey. She has some of the best beaches and most stunning views out there.

2. Frozen Lemonade

No other frozen lemonade will be quite as good as a Del's.

3. Seafood

Rhode Island seafood simply can't be beat!

4. Giving directions

No one gives directions quite like a Rhode Islander. When we're asked to do so out of state, it can be tough. Does anyone know where the nearest abandoned Benny's is?

5. Roadside attractions

Every state has some fun roadside attractions, but none of them quite live up to our Big Blue Bug.

6. Unique accents

Rhode Island locals have a very unique way of speaking. While all accents are awesome, sometimes we can hear an interesting new voice, and it will make us miss our characteristic lack of R's.

7. Hot dogs

No hot dog will be quite like a New York System hot wiener. Despite the name, these delicacies, piled high with chili, mustard, and onions, are a Rhode Island staple.
