During the month of April, the 1840s Mountain Man Camp takes place at Woolaroc. It is a living history event that recreates the life of a fur trader in the 1830's. On April 9-10 there is another event within this event -the Spring Traders Encampment.
This weekend event is a historical retreat with a variety of tents and tipis set up for guests to visit and shop from.
The camp sits on Crystal Lake, so the setting is near perfect. Wildlife can be found all around Woolaroc and it's quite magnificent.
There is no additional charge to attend; regular admission at the gate includes the Spring Traders Encampment.
The camp recreates what a settlement of this kind would have looked like in the 1840s. It will be historically accurate and offers fun for the whole family.
There are crafts and activities for guests to enjoy. During Mountain Man Camp, guests can learn everything from how to throw a tomahawk to how to shoot a black powder rifle.
You'll work up an appetite exploring everything here so be sure to visit Buffalo Haunt Concession Stand for some tasty food.
