After you've lived here for a while, there are just some images and well-known places in North Dakota that you would recognize immediately. Whether they are iconic team logos or even some of our common landscape, if you're from here, you probably know what these are instantly.

1. The World's Largest Buffalo

This massive structure is in Jamestown at the National Buffalo Museum. It's called "Dakota Thunder" and stands tall over the city and as a symbol of North Dakota's tourism.

2. And The World's Only Albino Bison

The National Buffalo Museum was also home to the only confirmed albino bison in the world. The famed "White Cloud" was seen on billboards and promotional fliers around North Dakota. Though she passed away in the past few years at a ripe old age, her white offspring can still be seen at the museum.

3. AND this team's very similar mascot and logo.

Are you starting to see a theme here? North Dakota loves its bison - especially the NDSU Bison. The college's football team wins championship after championship and is a well-known symbol.

The UND Fighting Hawks, based in Grand Forks, North Dakota, another fantastic college based here in the Peace Garden State. It is especially known for its hockey team.

5. ...Which used to be this.

The UND Fighting Hawks were formerly known as the Fighting Sioux - most North Dakotans recognize both logos and names easily.

6. The majestic tree row.

A.K.A. the shelterbelt, protectors from the wind and snow, convenient field dividers, North Dakota's forests planted in a straight line - whatever you may know it as, we've definitely all come to recognize this easily.

7. The skyscraper on the prairie.
