Personally, I think the best way to see all that natural beauty is by physically enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s hiking, camping, horseback riding, or boating.

Dramatic and a welcome relief from the summer heat, there’s no feeling quite like anticipating the summer rains, especially in the desert regions of the state.

4. Sunrises and sunsets

There’s something enchanting about watching the sun rise and set in New Mexico. Choose your favorite spot and watch the day begin or end.

5. Paying a visit to any of New Mexico’s small towns

Whether you’re looking to enjoy time in the great outdoors, soak in a hot spring, or explore some extremely unique places, you’ll enjoy all the tiny towns spread across the state.

6. Having a bite (or a plateful) of some homemade biscochitos

There’s a reason why these are the official state cookie!

7. And green chile in any dish
